Challenges

Made a POC fix for multi-module app memory bloating issue caused by cluttering with loaded assemblies, resolved involving AssemblyLoadContext.

Made an analysis and POC for Elasticsearch migration from 7.5.1 to 8.2.0. It included a table of breaking changes complimented with test cases, estimation and the actual tickets created. Also there were wiki page as a log of all the actions, a troubleshooting section, an overall process description, a testing approach using existing integration tests, an installation and a data migration process.

A poor-organized structure filled with low experienced staff got enhanced with daily meetings, weekly reports, a high level of visibility, better cross-teams coordination, risk management and, consequently, deadlines shifts after my coming, as well as product delivery aspects such as CI, CD, mandatory code review, technical documentation, backlog composition and project costs calculations.

Have managed to do revival and union of the team in a critical period.

Memory leak fixed for EF inside Quartz.NET jobs, caused by the absence of lifecycle management which led to overgrowth of cached objects.

Fixed/learned a deadlock-potential situation with ConfigureAwait(false) while running async method from sync one. We were lucky cause it happened in Console process with default (ThreadPool) SynchronizationContext, but won't work for other types of applications.

Not fixed a build of docker image within GitLab CI targeting on Windows. The issue is GitLab runner cannot deploy "service" to supply DinD based for Linux onto Windows Server host for building Windows-based docker image. 2 virtual hosts simultaneously are impossible.

Made a job for rebuilding indexes on a highly loaded table to increase throughput on reading.

Made an ARM template to deploy the resource group on Azure for Dev and Test environments. The set included AppService, Bot, all the networks, Server Farms, empty KeyVault, Skype channel for Bot.

Did a migration and rework of one of a highly loaded table with financial info from year-expanded look to aggregated one with Dapper as the fastest way (faster than T-SQL).
